How does Gourmet Detectives work?
In Gourmet Detectives, you solve a case together as a group and casually discover the city with its culinary insider tips and beautiful corners. On this page we explain what you can expect on an adventure.
Install app
To start your adventure, at least one person in your group must download our app onto their smartphone. We offer the app for iPhone in the App Store and for Android in the Google Play Store.

Redeem code
You can enter or copy the redemption code you bought into the app and the adventure is unlocked. The app can be started by multiple people, but the code will only work on one device once you have picked up a meal. So choose a "game master smartphone". You can then use this device to pick up food and navigate through the adventure. The app will greet you with a short tutorial. Every function that appears for the first time is explained using examples directly in the app. Before you really get started, however, you have to get to our starting point, which is shown to you in the app. You can start the app immediately after purchasing the tour and find out the starting point that way. Please remember that we have not created a circular tour and your end point may therefore be far away.
Let's go - Navigate
Once you have gathered at the meeting point, it begins. You start the app and the entire case unfolds before you. Gourmet Detectives is designed so that you can decide for yourself where you want to go. The app has an integrated map that shows you all the points that are of interest to the case. There are three different types of action, which are explained below.
1. Interview
You will find various witnesses or people you can "talk" to spread out across the map. The dialogues are shown in the app like a chat, with various response options for you. It is a good idea to read the dialogues out loud with two people so that the whole group is involved. Through the questioning, you should find out more and more details that will help you move forward. You have to differentiate between important and unimportant information. As a little help, there is a Notes tab in the app in which the most important findings are automatically recorded for you.
2. Pick up food or drink
Sometimes your interview partners are placed in locations that cooperate with us and where you can try a small speciality. To do this, you simply have to click on "Pick up food" in the app and show the Gourmet Detectives app on site. The staff at the location will redeem your voucher in the app and you will receive your food. How the whole thing works in detail is explained in the tutorial in the app. In any case, you will continue your adventure feeling stronger.
3. Puzzle
In some places you have to solve puzzles to get more information. This usually involves the environment and you have to connect the information from the app with that in the area. But don't worry, there are also help options that you can use if you get stuck.

If you have solved all the puzzles, questioned every relevant witness and, most importantly, picked up every food or drink, you can solve the entire case.
